When Thomas F. Moore developed a trenching machine in 1891 that would streamline the sewer excavation and construction process, he did not foresee that his invention would lead to the creation of a geotechnical engineering contractor that has remained a leader in the industry for more than a century. Though Moore’s invention would establish the foundation for what was first known as the Moore Trenching Machine Company, another Moore innovation, the dewatering wellpoint, would shape the company’s future. The company has now expanded its capabilities to include ground freezing, environmental remediation, industrial construction, and geotechnical construction.
