Our Process

Your Guarantee of Accuracy, Quality and Enduring Historical Value

We begin a new project by assigning a professional research assistant to review your archives at your headquarters and to coordinate the collection of archival materials from your field operations wherever they may be located. The research assistant will review and collect images, internal publications, press releases, annual reports, product or service brochures and circulars, executive speeches, and review an aggressive survey of public commentary regarding your organization.

Once the principal archives have been researched, we widen our search for additional sources of reference material. For example, we contact historical societies in areas where you have a corporate presence, as well as industry trade associations and their publications. As the former Assistant Director of the Naval and Underseas Museum in Newport, RI, Jeff Rodengen is among the most knowledgeable and skilled researchers of technical and industrial history in the world.

An important part of the creation of a well-illustrated and impressive volume is the acquisition and careful selection of excellent historical photographs and artwork. We encourage you to consider where valuable art might be located, so that we may be sure to review every resource. All images are carefully logged in and out of our art department, and will be returned with the greatest of care.

When we begin our interviews, we start with your leadership, who will share information about the corporate philosophy, mission and culture. We will also make sure to ask who the most important audiences for the completed work will be, and discover which themes and messages will be the most effective to meet those goals. We will make every effort to conduct as many interviews in person as possible. Our principal author, award-winning historian Jeff Rodengen will conduct each interview personally. As the author of over 130 books on the evolution of industry, technology and society, his preparation for the interviews and his significant experience, guarantee that he will achieve the goals for the interview. Our proprietary interviewing process will be explained in greater detail once we have had the opportunity to speak. We will work together to develop an initial list of interview subjects. It is important that you contact the interview subjects to let them know that we will be calling to schedule an interview so that they are not surprised.

Research and manuscript preparation will take anywhere from 8 to 12 months, depending primarily on how efficient your organization can be in reviewing our work. We will provide a comprehensive milestone schedule for the entire project. This important document will detail when documents are delivered to you and when your review should be completed.

Among the considerations that you will have during this process is the possibility of a Foreword Honoree for the book. One measure of the regard given to the award-winning books by Write Stuff is that they have been honored with forewords and contributions by among the most admired names in American business and political history. Among these has been former President George Bush, former Vice President Dick Cheney, former President Gerald R. Ford, former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, Tom Clancy, W.R. Grace Chairman J. Peter Grace, Run Silent, Run Deep author Edward L. Beach, Harvard Business School professor and author of Future Perfect and 2020 Vision Stan Davis, A.J. Foyt, Arnold Palmer, former National Security Advisor and Secretary of Defense Frank Carlucci, former Vice President Dan Quayle, Chairman Robert Palmer of DEC, Wendy's International founder Dave Thomas, Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott, Senator Orin Hatch, Senator Tom Harkin, Senator Jon Kyl, Governor Wally J. Hickel of Alaska, former U.S. Surgeon General C. Everett Koop, Harrison Ford and Warren Buffett, among others.

Once the manuscript has been approved, our production team will complete the many other processes required prior to printing. Among these important processes are a comprehensive annotation of sources, a professionally produced index, production of dust jacket designs and other critical publication housekeeping chores. We pride ourselves on being the most meticulous of publishers, and we literally watch every page come off the presses so that we can be sure every book with your name and our name on it meets the highest standards of quality and artistic merit.

About 60 days before delivery, we will require shipping instructions. We can send your volumes to a single destination for distribution, or drop ship to many locations. We can also coordinate with your freight forwarding resource for volumes which are to be distributed globally.

Jeff Rodengen will be pleased to autograph books for your associates, prospects, friends and family at your events to launch the book. We sincerely look forward to the opportunity to work with you. Jeff will be pleased to meet with you and other interested executives to talk about the possibility of producing a book to commemorate the history and success of your organization.
